Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from interpreters who meet the following criteria:
Professional fluency in English and at least one additional language
Certification, training, or formal interpreting education (preferred)
Experience in medical, legal, or community interpreting (asset)
Strong ethical standards and confidentiality awareness
Reliable availability and professional communication skills
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Both freelance and contract interpreters are encouraged to apply.

Types of interpreters needed
Community interpreters - that provide interpreting services in a variety of settings, such as healthcare, education, social services, and the legal system. They may work with individuals, families, or groups, and they may interpret in person or over the phone.
Conference interpreters - to interpret speeches, presentations, and other spoken communication at conferences, meetings, and other events. They may work simultaneously or consecutively, and they may use equipment such as microphones and headsets.
Court interpreters - that facilitate communication in courtrooms and other legal settings. They interpret testimony, witness statements, and other legal proceedings.
Guide interpreters - that provide interpreting services for tour groups, business travelers, and other visitors to Canada. They may interpret in a variety of settings, such as museums, historical sites, and restaurants.
Medical interpreters - that facilitate communication between patients and healthcare professionals. They interpret medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans. Sign language interpreters - that interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa. They work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, and government offices.
Educational interpreters - that work in schools and other educational settings to help students with disabilities access education.
Business interpreters - that provide interpreting services for businesses and organizations. They may interpret meetings, negotiations, and other business-related communication.
Religious interpreters - that facilitate communication in religious settings, such as churches and mosques.
Media interpreters - that interpret for the media, such as in interviews and press conferences.
